FINDING YOUR PAIN

I'm 35 years old. I have lost many things in my life. I will lose many more things, as my life continues. I have always looked to those in the limelight to find the qualities I would like to possess. Those qualities, have led me to my heroes and my idols. I have for a while now stated that my heroes and idols have fallen. That there are no longer heroes and idols out there worth emulating.

I am wrong.

It took a horrific moment for me to see this. I have for the last 33 hours been asking myself what I should feel. How I should feel. Is it wrong to feel a certain way. Is it wrong because I don't feel that way. I have sat in this exact spot asking all those questions. While I was at work, I stood there, asking the same questions. As I sat on the couch watching ECW, I asked myself the same questions, and added "Is this even right, that I'm watching this?"

You see, it's not that there are not anymore heroes or idols out there in the world. There are over 6,602,224,175 people in this world. And that means there are 6,602,224,175 different influences out there. Some will be heroes and some will cause heartaches. I have looked to celebrities, writers, actors wrestlers, musicians, athletes and even fictional characters to find the qualities that would make me a better person. I guess in a way I still will, BUT I will no longer limit myself to that small population.

I am now going to look at the human race and more importantly, within myself. I know that every single one of us has the ability to be saints or sinners, heroes or villians, angels or demons and good or bad. I have to start looking at all of us, and within us find that idea of a better person.

I want to be a better person. I want people to start looking at me the same way I have started looking at them. As outlines to what is in me, and not as the definitive answers. For the first time in 33 hours, I am able to breathe. I am still in shock and truly saddened by what has transpired. But I have found that spark of hope.

I have found my pain.

Yes, it is OK to feel what I am feeling. Yes it is OK to question, my thoughts and all these conflicting emotions. It is ok to feel sad, dispirited, confused and tormented. I have learned that it is ok to feel. And that it's ok to start my own healing process.

It's time I started healing.

And I am taking the first step...

I don't know what to think. I'm at a loss. As you all know, I'm a wrestling fan and have been one for over 30 years. Another one of my favorite wrestlers is no longer with us.

Passionate.

Intense.

Driven.

Respected.

He and his family are no longer with us. I was shocked to hear this. I'm still in shock. My wife told me the news when she came to have lunch with me at work. I instantly became numb. I was afraid to admit that the first thing I thought was the worst. Than I started to come up with different scenarios. I couldn't deal with it anymore. So in my head I started writing. Working on my story about superheroes. Working on my articles on CD's and books, and how I was going to review them. I couldn't form complete thoughts. Very much the way this entry is going to read. I didn't know what to think. I still don't know what to think.

The authorities are calling it a double homicide suicide.

The worst thought that came into my head might be true after all.

Now what do I do?

Do I forget the last 10 plus years of being entertained and awed by this man?

It seems the longer I keep this up, the more I try to branch off to keep it fresh and new. The more I try to keep it fresh and new, the more I keep ending up in the same spot. I keep finding new places and I keep writing the same things. Well I say enough of that.

I have a few waste of space sites going on right now, and I'll keep you updated on how they go. The one I'm sharing first because it wil forever be a work in progress is a place where I'm putting up my photo's. Yeah I know I can do that here, and I will, sorta. I like having options. Sue me. LOL.

So if you want to see what I see those times I have my camera with me and charged
CoaceVisuals I'll try to add pics every couple of days.

Also if you go to my profile page, you'll see I have a Project Playlist Player (Y2JOSE07) there. But I know how obnoxious it is to get to a page and the music starts automatically, so if you want to hear the music you actually got to click on it. (this obviously doesn't relate to this site, but since I'm here so often, I like hearing the music) I'm going to start a music blog on there as soon as I have a little of extra time, which I'll be doing on the days I don't do the CoaceVisuals site. I haven't blogged anything on there yet (well other than what you have already read here), but I will start that soon.

Oh yeah, just so you know, there no rhyme or reason for the songs I choose. It's just a whim kind of thing, so you will get quite an eclectic musical experience.

Y2JOSE07 Is the link for that. Basically I'm going to start devoting more time to both of these, along with a couple more places closer to the end of the month. I figure by then I'll have enough back logged stuff to keep it all interesting. Well as atleast as interesting as I uausally am, which at times I know I am as exciting as watching paint dry.

I guess I have reached a point where I need to challenge myself as much as possible, in everything I do.

Well it's either that or I'm a glutton for punishment.

A BIT OF HISTORY DYING OUT

It seems weird to me. That in a few short years, the survivors of WWII will no longer be with us. That was a thought that had never crossed my mind. That the men, women and children of that era will simply cease to be. Believe me, I have no "romanticized ideals" about WWII. It is/was as brutal and ugly as any war before and since than.

But, I have a deep respect for the survivors and that "time."

When allies were there for each other, supporting each other.

When most of the free world were united in the same cause.

When warriors returned from the battlefield to open arms of loved ones.

When victims were sheltered, fed and cared for.

When heroes were not just a men in uniform, but also the woman in the work place.

When patriotism was a tangible emotion.

When we respected our world leaders and our commanders.

Than I get slapped in the face with the reality of today. That the survivors of today's wars are someone else's problem. That we truly have no "allies" in the world. That the world is more divided than ever before. That today's warriors return, only to be chastised for doing what they believe is right. That the victim's are now exploited on television, in the news and in the media. That there really are no more heroes in this world. Where patriotism equals a "me first" thought process. And that every world leader today is a punchline to some body's joke.

Maybe, we need to talk to and to listen to those survivors one last time. Because there is coming a day, when that won't be an option.
